htslib-test software package provides Test data for HTSlib, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install htslib-test
htslib-test is installed in your system.
Make ensure the htslib-test package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep htslib-test *
You will get with htslib-test package name, version, architecture and description in a table
